The Biggest Video Games Release Dates Of Fall 2022

Even though the global pandemic has been on the decline for some time now, we are only beginning to notice the long-term impacts in actual life. It's August, and 2022 has already been a really unusual year for video game releases.

As a result of the disruptions in 2020 and 2021, this year has seen several high-profile delays and long intervals without any significant releases. Due to this, some lesser-known games—like Stray and Cult of the Lamb—have flourished. However, game expenditure is drastically down, and publishers hope this fall will reverse the trend. At least for some of them.

The primary games will be released in 2022 from August through December. These games could change the course of the current game world and provide us with more options other than Elden Ring, Horizon Forbidden West, and a select few more.

  • August 11 – Cult of the Lamb (All platforms)

  • August 12 – Spider-Man (PC)

  • August 19 – Madden NFL 23 (All platforms)

  • August 23 – Saints Row (All platforms)

  • September 2 – The Last of Us Part I Remake (PS5)

  • September 9 – NBA 2K23 (All Platforms)

  • September 9 – Splatoon 3 (Switch)

  • September 29 – Valkyrie Elysium (PS4, PS5)

  • October 4 – Overwatch 2 (All platforms)

  • October 7 – Marvel’s Midnight Suns (All Platforms)

  • October 18 – A Plague Tale: Requiem (PS5, Series X/S, Switch, PC)

  • October 20 – Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope (Switch)

  • October 21 – Persona 5 Royal (All remaining platforms)

  • October 21 – Scorn (Xbox, PC)

  • October 25 – Gotham Knights (PS5, Series X/S, PC)

  • October 28 – Bayonetta 3 (Switch)

  • October 28 – Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II (All Platforms)

  • November 8 – Skull and Bones (PS5, Series X/S, Stadia, PC)

  • November 9 - God of War: Ragnarok (PS5, PS4)

  • November 18 - Pokémon Scarlet/Violet (Switch)

  • December 2 – The Callisto Protocol (All platforms)

Hogwarts Legacy, the massive Harry Potter RPG, has been mentioned a lot this fall to close up this list. However, it is still simply labeled as December 2022 as of right now. It is still one of the only significant games coming out this fall/holiday that doesn't have a set release date, despite a recent leak that put it on December 6. Although we'll have to wait and see, I don't believe a delay is inconceivable.

Regarding everything else, you can see that October is the most packed of the following five months. It features the most "major" titles overall, including Modern Warfare II, which will undoubtedly be a massive smash. It is probably the only thing that can hope to compete with Elden Ring's sales figures. Redfall and Starfield, two major Xbox exclusive releases planned for release in this timeframe, have both been postponed till early 2023.

So, which of these will you definitely choose, then?
